Each piece of jewellery needs a long creation process: the selection of pearls and precious stones of various shapes and colours, the determination of the most harmonious combination, the simulation and creation of a completely hand-made custom setting. Utopia’s workshop gives birth to a very exclusive one of a kind piece: a unique brooch made from one of the biggest round South Sea pearl in the world, 20 mm size, splendidly mounted in a diamonds’ firework; the pearl is supported by an ancient, unique and extremely rare natural coral from Sardinia, belonging to the private collection of Utopia.

THE MOOR OF VENICE
The Moor is a jewel of the Venetian goldsmith tradition. The name derives from the word “moro” which at the time was used to name the Saracen pirates, who many centuries ago lived along the Dalmatian coast, near Venice. The Saracens wore these jewels as amulets and soon the Venetian goldsmiths began to create precious jewels as a representation of these peoples.
The Utopia Moor is inspired by this tradition; it is composed by a huge “jumbo” baroque South Sea pearl, very rare in size and belonging to the private collection of Utopia. The Moor head is made by ebony, crafted by an Italian wood sculptor and adorned with rubies and diamonds.
